NTSE – NMMS Scholarships 2010-2011
The National Council for Educational Research & Training (NCERT) awards scholarships to 1000 candidates who qualify in the NTSE exam conducted for award of NTSE Scholarships.
The NTSE scholarship exam is conducted every year and it is a two state exam.
The Stage I Exam is conducted by State / Union Territories. The Stage I exam include two papers viz, – (i) Mental Ability Test (MAT) & (ii) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering social sciences, mathematics and sciences.
Those who qualify in the Stage I examination are called for Stage II examination. The Stage II written examination is conducted by NCERT. The stage II examination conducted by NCERT includes questions on Mental Ability Test & Scholastic Ability Test covering social sciences, mathematics & sciences.
Those who qualify in the written test are called by personal interview by NCERT for award of scholarships.
The duly filled in application form signed by principal should be submitted to concerned State / UT Liason Officer. The address and contact details of State / UT Liason Officer can be downloaded from the official website of NCERT
Indian Students Studying Abroad can appear directly for stage II Examination subject to fulfillment of conditions prescribed by NCERT. Students studying abroad can send the application latest by 31 March 2011 along with photo copies of mark sheet of previous year.

The NCERT is also awarding the scholarships to students belonging to weaker sections. The National Merit cum Means Scholarships examination will be conducted along with NTSE. The students who wish to apply for the NMMS can enquire from the concerned liason Officer.
